As I clear off a few sets of needles and try to decide what to start next, I'm trying to look back as well and see what neglected projects may be lurking around. I assure you there are no shortage of hidden WIPs, but the decision is... frog or finish.
Well, the first decision was easy because I've promised my sister a golden silk shawl so today I cast on for Evelyn Clark's popular Flower Basket Shawl in some Handmaiden Sea Silk in the "Straw" colorway.
And... from the WIP collection (which would most likely be completely forgotten if not for Ravelry), I've pulled out the Debbie Bliss Grace cardigan that I started almost a year ago.
I actually was pretty enthusiastic about getting back to work on this as I really adore the sweater. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm wore off after about a half-dozen rows. It's possible that I'm just a bit cabled out at the moment... or it could be that it appears that I bound off the armholes an inch or so too soon (don't remember why... or if there was a why... it was most likely more of a whoops). It also seems that it will not be a loose fit like it should. Could it be that I never checked my gauge? More than likely. But Cashmerino should stretch like crazy with blocking so I could take a deep breath of hope and ignore the sizing issues and just proceed with a few dozen more hours of cabling. I could...
Or, I could hide it in the back of the linen closet again until I get in another cabling mood... or find another pattern for the yarn. I guess I'll think about it tomorrow... I'll just tuck it in the linen closet for safe keeping until I decide.

LOL!
It is beautiful though.
You could finish the back and block it. Then you'll know if it's worth finishing. I had part of a sweater finished in that same color cashmerino. I frogged mine, because even though I'm overweight, I'm not nearly as huge as that sweater was1
It's so pretty - but I hear you on the cables! :o)
Your cables look really good though!
Where is the WIP Wrestling event at the Ravelympics when you need it?
I do hope you finish it soon. I really like the yarn and the pattern.
Okay, Scarlett - love that 'I'll think about it tomorrow' attitude! :)
That shawl is gonna be gorgeous - I love everything Evelyn Clark designs!
Finish Grace. Not only is it gorgeous, but you're right--it will stretch like crazy with blocking. Both the yarn and the cables will relax a whole lot. I love, love, love that design, and it will look fantastic on you.
Both are in such pretty colors! :-) Can't wait to see them finished!
Blessings,

How gorgeous.
I gave you an award BTW. http://zoofullofboys.blogspot.com/2009/01/coughing-achng-stuffy-nose-feverthese.html
Ignore the title of the post. My brain is finally returning to normal.
That gold is beautiful.
I'm with you on the frog/finish fence. Hee, I'm so alliterative. I'm sure you'll figure it out.
You're a brave woman to face your wips!
That's a whole lot of cables. It would probably kill my hands. I love the color of the shawl and it reminds me of Rumpelstilzchen. From straw to gold. :)
