Corn? Really?

Saturday morning was spent surrounded by sock yarns and patterns. I pulled out many seasonal colors from solids to stripes... wound at least 1/2 dozen hanks into colorful center-pull skeins... and spent much time pondering the perfect spring pattern.

Finally, dizzy with options and color, I settled on...

Crystal Palace Maizy

white.

Afterall, one can always use white socks... and I thought the wool alternative might be good for summer.

Boring? Maybe.

But two days later...

Eunice

Not so boring!

The pattern is "Eunice". My second pattern from Cookie A's Sock Innovation. The pattern is wonderful and super addicting, but the yarn... eh. Unfortunately it's splitty and doesn't provide the pleasing tactile experience of knitting with wool. I almost ditched it several times but, like I said, one can never have too many pairs of white socks.

I think the sock looks fabulous! Honestly I never thought to knit with white for socks.

I'm sorry to hear that the yarn isn't more tactile.

What will they think of next. We must have something in our house that we can spin into yarn and make a fortune out of!!!

Grass clippings. We have lots of those....

Two DAYS?? Holy Catz, that's crazy! I suppose if I were more monogamous I'd finish things too. sigh.

Boy does that knit up well, though! The pattern just jumps. I may have to pick some up next time I head to the semi-LYS.

Not boring at all! But honestly? WHITE socks??? Haven't had a pair in years- for some reason they turn rather grey around here...

Those are gorgeous. You have a flair for combining (a) color(s) with a pattern; they compliment each other instead battling it out.

I've found bamboo blends that are mostly bamboo (such as Panda Cotton) to be splitty as well but once you get used to it, not so bad. However, mostly cotton yarns I've knit with aren't splitty. That's interesting.

For me, it's never too many cotton socks since I can wear them year round.
