Finished Juliet

Ah.. the fine art of procrastination!

I finally got around to adding the buttons to Juliet from Zepher Style.

Juliet Juliet

I've knit a few of their patterns now and always enjoy them. This was so cute I had to give it a go, but I'm not really sure it's "me". Having spent more than a few years in maternity clothes, I have a difficult time wearing this sort of baby-doll style without feeling dowdy. On the other hand, I feel hip enough to get away with wearing it either.

The details:
Juliet - Size Small
Elsebeth Lavold Silky Tweed 06
8 hanks doubled
Size 10 Knit Picks Options

The excitement of finishing Juliet was only dimmed by the reality that I was going to need to frog most of Mr. Greenjeans. I just knew it had to be done, and Julie agreed. So, I frogged and re-wound (untangled) the cabled bottom... and then I did something really crazy and knit a swatch with cables and all! (The pattern calls for going down a needle size when starting the cables but I wanted to try it with the same size needles to loosen the ribbing up a bit thereby freeing it from my rear end.) Actually I've knit several swatches since yesterday when I realized I was sinking into a knitter's bog. So, once my swatches are dry (yes! I even washed them!), I will know how to continue.

One of the yarns I swatched was this new Dream in Color Classy in Cloud Jungle. I plan on using it to make a largish, comfy, throw-on-in-the-morning-with-jeans type of sweater.

Yum!

You look very hip in your Juliet! Great job. Sorry to hear about your frogging on Mr. Greenjeans. I hope that I'm not going to have the same issue. The DC Classy looks so gorgeous!

There's nothing dowdy about Juilet! And with short sleeves you'll be able to wear it most of the year here. Most of my wardrobe is "throw-on-in-the-morning-with-jeans". I'm excited to see what you'll come up with next.

I love the drape of the Silky Tweed. And I think you are working that Juliet very nicely - wear it proudly!

I love Juliet! It looks perfect on you!

I love the Juliet! It does not look like maternity wear!
Thats sad about Mr Greenjeans. Maybe that is why I am scared to knit a sweater......all that work and then here comes the frog..

You are one of the best "wear your own knits" models I have ever seen. You'll be happy to know that the mint malabrigo is well on it's way to becoming "Wicked." It's softness saved the whole NYC mess!

Thank you everybody! You are so kind. And Sophanne - your comment made me feel much less dorky as a "model".

Swatching AND washing?! I am so impressed!

Juliet is adorable. I share your aversion for maternity fashion, but I think you're safe.

maternity? Do you honestly think you'd wear this when pregnant? Nope! It's great!

Ohhh, had to stop by and drool at all your marvelous knitting! The things you knit look so complicated...like this beautiful Juliet :-)

I know what you mean about the current smocky styles...I just can't quite wear them as I spent toooo many years being pregnant and I don't want to look like it anymore! But for the record, you do not look pg in this!

Do you sell any of the items you knit or is it strictly a knitting for enjoyment kind of thing?
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~

It looks really great! I'm of the same mind about the baby-doll styling. It looks cool on others, but I feel either pregnant or huge when I wear it. sigh

You can SO pull off Juliet. Looks like another beautiful item to add to your wardrobe.

The DiC looks so perfect for a big comfy sweater. I'm jealous!
