Good News, Bad News

The good news...

I LOVE both the Swallowtail Shawl pattern and the Handmaiden Sea Silk!

Swallowtail

Pure joy and luxury!

The bad news...

I'm not so in love with my first SOS 2008 socks.

SOS 2008

The pattern and yarn just aren't doing it for me. I realized this very (very) early on but, because I was enjoying the pattern so much, I knit on in blind hope.

Good news...

I found a new pattern that perfectly complements the yarn.

Speedway Socks

Speedway Socks by Anni Design (Ravelry). I love me some little stripes!

Bad news...

It appears I need, at the very least, a root canal. :(

Good news...

Your turn to play. See ya in the comments.

Great new choice for that sock pattern! You're right, it is much better. And...I love the look of that handmaiden silk. Gotta get me some!

I really hate teeth troubles.

My husband broke two teeth this spring.

There goes the tax money.

A root canal?! That's terrible news! My husband has to have a new bridge done, and I thought that was bad.

Your shawl is gorgeous! And so is the sock - great yarn.

Your shawl is gorgeous!

Ok, here's mine:

Good news: I taught my hubby to knit, so he now understands my need for yarn.

Bad news: He is using the needle that I need to make a baby hat (Addi Turbo Size 6 16" circular). Grrr.

That shawl is exquisite, Tammy.

Sorry about the root canal. I need to go to the dentist. :(

Good news is that you won't need it pulled and be left with a hole in your mouth until you can afford an implant :-)

I'm with you on the socks. Now you've got me thinking I should rip a sock that's about that far along. The thing is...I think it's just the yarn I don't like. And maybe I should just finish the socks and give them away.

Good news...they give you happy pills for the root canal. When you come home, you'll only be able to knit. No laundry, cooking, or other chores.

Bad news...don't try to cast on when taking those happy pills. I never can count right. And stick to simple stockinette in the round. Maybe a plain sock.

Last time I had a scary appointment coming up with the dentist, I used my headphones to listen to a Monty Python CD. It worked wonders!
