Where Are You Going?

This is the question I was asked not once, not twice, not even three times... but four times this morning when I got up and got dressed. From 13 down to 5, each child wanted to know where I was going.

"Why?" was my response. Why are you asking me this? Well, my 13 yo is way too polite to say anything so he just gave his shoulders a shrug. No it was one of the younger ones who pointed out that I was "dressed up". This, of course, would've been no big deal if I had actually been dressed up... but this, dear friends, is what they saw...

Levi's, waterproof boots, and a sweater I picked up from Target for $14.

And I'm dressed up.

See... I'm not kidding when I say I'm a casual kinda gal. Since most of our days are spent around the house, I'm almost always in sweats. I'm way big on comfort. Hey, I'm squatting, sitting, standing, cleaning, and being a human climbing post most of the time. I would be a very sad woman without my sweats.

And the truth is, I did have a couple of places to go and knew I'd be taking my oldest son to do some shopping for his upcoming ski weekend. Someday I'll have to tell you about shopping with my eldest. I never did get a daughter, but I sure did get a shopper.

And an actor. "Hey Daniel... let me get a picture of you in the hail."
We've had a couple of days of rain now, and today even brought some thunder, lightening and hail. The storms are supposed to keep up through the weekend... which is actually a wonderful change of pace. However, my oldest will be getting on a bus tomorrow with our church youth group and travelling a few hundred miles to Mammoth. I would so much love your prayers on this one! Thanks.

Kids crack me up! A trip to Mammoth sounds fun, but I can understand why you're a bit concerned. I'm sure it will be fine, but my thoughts are with you.

What a face!

I don't think the weather was as bad up north of us.

Hi, Just wanted you to know I've enjoyed your blog the last week or so, since I discovered it from The Loopy Ewe's two-color contest. Really loved your Shibui gloves, and want to make some of my own, if they ever get the pattern back in stock!

From the weather you're having, it sounds like you're pretty close to me (I'm in Upland). The rain is supposed to ease up a bit, I hear, so hopefully your son's trip (but not his weekend :^) will be uneventful.

Hee - we were JUST talking about the same thing this morning at Bible study. Geez... you put on shoes and everyone gets excited. Makes a sad comment on my everyday attire :o)

We didn't get any hail yesterday, but I did hear some thunder!

I'll definitely prayer for safety for your son's trip.

My dog goes nuts every time I put on shoes as opposed to slippers - surely something monumental is going to occur now? I will be happy to pray for your son's trip - hope he has a great time and that they are all safe and happy. Very nice blog - I will be back for sure!

It is almost noon, I am still in my pajamas and no one has questioned me. This is thankfully not an everyday thing, but the fact that no one questions....sad really. I choose to see it as good child rearing and no one questioning mom. I just bought some great sweats last weekend. Hurray for "new clothes"!!

I get the same grief from my kids. No clogs? I must be going to meet the president or something. A skirt? Well, it must be the queen. Boy they give me grief too...

I commented earlier and got nixed.

I said you should be wearing one of your own sweaters.

And I will pray for your son.
