Shetland Blocking

Blocking always amazes me.

This morning I had a blob. A great knitted blob of color. It showed very little hope of being much more.

Shetland Triangle Shawl

In fact, I kept comparing my blob to the other Shetland Triangle Shawls that were displayed on Ravelry.

I was almost sure that I had done something wrong. No doubt I had ssk'd when I should've k2tog'd. But I couldn't find the mistake.

But alas, the magic of blocking.

The Dream in Color Smooshy I used is incapable of pooling and the colors are always so varied and rich. The top picture is probably the closest to the overall color I used (Chinatown Apple), but you can see the variety in the close-ups.

Dry, baby, dry!

It's like a ugly little caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Too poetic? Sorry, that's the first thing that came to mind. Love it.

That really is lovely! I'll have to knit something that needs to be blocked like that just so I can see the magic myself.

Tammy, that's really beautiful. And I had no idea that the Dream in Colour wouldn't pool - it looks amazing! :0)

No, what is amazing is that you can't find yourally relat cell phone (something I totally relate to) but you can knit lace. It's like a superpower. And the shawl is lovely.

And I can spell, but my thumb apparently drags over my mouse pad. Sorry.

Gorgeous!!! How hard has the lace bug hit??? I'm glad you got your hand out of the couch too. I hope you aren't holding your breath waiting for your sock yarn. Honey forgot to mail it while I was gone!!! You get what you pay for, you know!
